JVLMA invites for a chamber music concert on November 14, 2019, meaning a new model of collaboration and new friends in music. Young musicians of Hungaria and Latvia offer an interesting programme – next to the works of Ravel and Martinu it will acquaint with the youngest generation of Latvian and Hungarian composers.
Initiative of the Composition Department of Ferenz Liszt Budapest Academy of Music was supported by the Academies of Music in Prague, Helsinki, Zurich and London Guildhall School of Music and Drama – and now our young musicians have the privilege to get involved in this highly promising collaboration. Young composers of both Academies received a task to create a piano trio which would be performed by the chamber ensemble of the partner Academy supplementing the programme with a repertoire of their choice. The result was an interesting and meaningful programme which will be performed twice – on October 26 in the magnificent Solti Hall of Ferenz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and on November 14 in the Great Hall of Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in Riga.
Next to Piano trio of Maurice Ravel, Trio for flute, cello and piano of Boguslav Martinu and Par un clair matin from Aquarelles of Philippe Gaubert the audience will have an opportunity to listen to Liebeslieder of the young Hungarian composer Balázs Kecskés D. and In the Labyrinth of Letters of the young Latvian composer Andrievs Alksnis.
Latvian team is represented by trio ESPRESSO – winners of the competition „The best chamber ensemble of JVLMA” 2019 – Laura Balabane (piano), Egija Sproģe-Orehova (flute) and Tomass Ančs (cello), but members of the Hungarian trio ENCUENTRO are Kristóf Tóth (violin), Eszter Agárdi (celllo), Henrik Szőcs (piano).
You are warmly welcome to the concert on Thursday, November 14, 2019, in the Great Hall of JVLMA at 18.00.
